Peñablanquilla: on the hillside below Mijas Pueblo

Peñablanquilla is a small settlement on the hillside that slopes down from Mijas Pueblo towards the coast. Country houses, vegetable gardens and detached homes are dotted among the greenery, with views of the coastline.

The village, just a stone’s throw away

Its main advantage is its proximity to the historic centre. A must-see is the Ermita de la Virgen de la Peña, a hermitage carved into the rock and dedicated to the patron saint of Mijas:

Nearby are the Jardines de la Muralla, the village’s sweeping vantage point over the Costa del Sol:
