If you visit the website
No tracking cookies. Webmijas does not use tracking, advertising or third-party cookies, so we do not need to ask for your consent to browse the site.
Anonymous analytics. To understand which pages are of most interest, we count visits in aggregate, recording only the page visited and the day. We do not store your IP address, browser details or any identifiers, and if your browser sends a ‘Do Not Track’ signal, we do not even count your visit.
Maps. Maps are loaded from OpenStreetMap servers only when you click ‘Show map’. At that point, your browser connects to OpenStreetMap, which receives your IP address to deliver the map, in accordance with its own privacy policy.
Technical logs. Like any web server, ours may temporarily log technical connection data (such as IP addresses) solely to ensure the security and smooth operation of the service.
If you contact us
If you send us an email, we will use your data only to reply and handle your request, and we will keep it for as long as necessary for those purposes. The legal basis is your consent when contacting us or the taking of steps at your request.
Business data
The guide displays professional contact details for shops and businesses in Mijas (name, address, telephone number, website and opening hours), obtained from publicly accessible sources such as their own websites or OpenStreetMap, or provided by the businesses themselves. We process this data on the basis of our legitimate interest in informing residents and visitors about local businesses. Any business can ask us to correct or remove its data at any time.
Technical cookies
Only the internal editing panel uses a strictly necessary technical cookie to keep the people who edit the guide logged in. This does not affect visitors.
Your rights
You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing and data portability by emailing info@webmijas.es. If you feel that we have not handled your request properly, you can lodge a complaint with the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (Spanish Data Protection Agency) (aepd.es).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the website or legislation. The current version is always the one published on this page.
