Las Lagunas: everyday Mijas

Neighbourhood shops, theatre, culture and parks: discover Las Lagunas, the most populous part of Mijas, just a stone’s throw from Fuengirola.

Plaza Mijas, in Las Lagunas

Las Lagunas is the most populous part of Mijas. It stretches across the plain beside Fuengirola, between the motorway and the mountains, and is home to many of the municipality’s services, schools and shops. This is everyday Mijas, lived in all year round, beyond tourism.

Culture

The Teatro Municipal Manuel España is the area’s main performance venue, with theatre, music and dance throughout the year:

The Casa de la Cultura de Las Lagunas hosts workshops, exhibitions and activities for all ages:

Places of worship

The Iglesia de San Manuel is the parish church of Las Lagunas, while the Capilla de Nuestra Señora de Fátima serves another part of the area. Las Lagunas’ international character is reflected in Margrethekirken, the Danish community’s church:
