Mountain range rising above the village, with pine forests, walking trails and views of the Costa del Sol.

The Sierra de Mijas rises behind the village, separating the coast from the Guadalhorce valley. Its pine forests, ravines and old quarries form the municipality’s main natural area.

Things to do

  • Walk from Mijas Pueblo up to the Calvario, the viewpoints and the peaks.
  • Follow trails to neighbouring villages, such as Benalmádena or Alhaurín.
  • Take in views of the entire Costa del Sol from above.

Tips

Avoid the hottest hours in summer, carry water and follow fire prevention rules.
